The Fort Hays State men's basketball team brings a 2-0 record into its home opener tonight (Monday, Nov. 15) against Bethany College (Kan.). The Tigers and Swedes are set to tip-off at 7:30 pm. FHSU is coming off wins over No. 20 Midwestern State and Southwestern Oklahoma State this past weekend at the South Central Regional Challenge.
Preseason All-American selection
Dominique Jones leads the Tigers in scoring, averaging 27.0 points through two games. He dropped a career-high 34 on Midwestern State then led the Tigers in scoring once again against Southwestern Oklahoma State with 20.
Corbin Kuntzsch ranks second on the team in scoring at 15.5 points per game. He had a double-double of 17 points and 10 rebounds in the win over Southwestern Oklahoma State and scored 14 in the opener against Midwestern State.
Ken Bowman scored 10 points in each of the games in Oklahoma.
The Tigers have won 14 straight games over Bethany, dating back to the 1983-84 season. Following the game against Bethany, the Tigers get set to host long-time rival Nebraska-Kearney on Saturday, November 20 at 4 pm.
