Fort Hays State is coming off a 103-60 win over Bethany College this past Monday in its home opener. The Tigers have been shooting the ball well this year, connecting on over 50% of their shots in each game this year.

Nebraska-Kearney has already played two road games to open the season this week, defeating Doane College on Tuesday, but falling in overtime to Wayne State (Neb.) on Thursday.

Fort Hays State defeated the Lopers last year in Kearney by a score of 75-60. The Tigers have won the last three meetings with the Lopers dating back to the 2007-08 season. The Tigers lead the all-time series 71-43.

Dominique Jones leads the Tigers in scoring at 24.0 points per game. He has been the team leader in scoring all three games this year. He also leads the team in assists per game (6.0) and steals per game (2.3). Jones leads the team in 3-point field goals along with fellow New York native Moses Dayee, both at 8-of-17 (47.1%) from beyond the arc this year. Dayee is averaging 10.7 points per game off the bench.

Corbin Kuntzsch remains steady in his contribution on the floor, averaging 13.7 points per game and a team-best 6.7 rebounds per game. He is also averaging 3.3 assists per game and is shooting a blistering 61.1%  from the field.

Ken Bowman has been steady inside for the Tigers, scoring 10 points in all three games this year. He is shooting 64.7% from the field and averages 6.0 rebounds per game.

The Tigers play two more non-conference games following the game with the Lopers on Saturday. Fort Hays State travels to Newman in Wichita, Kan., on Tuesday (Nov. 23) and then hosts Sterling College on Saturday (Nov. 27). Nebraska-Kearney will once again be a conference foe for the Tigers in 2012-13, when it joins the Mid-America Intercollegiate Athletics Association.
