The FHSU men's basketball team gets its toughest road test so far this season on Wednesday at Central Missouri in Warrensburg, Mo. Tipoff is set for 7:30 pm. Fort Hays State enters the game at 10-1 overall and 4-1 in the MIAA, while Central Missouri is 7-4 overall and 3-3 in the MIAA.

Central Missouri has been tough on the Tigers since FHSU joined the MIAA in 2006-07. FHSU is just 4-8 against the Mules since joining the conference. Fort Hays State has won just once in Warrensburg since joining the MIAA. That occurred in 2010-11 when a No. 13 ranked FHSU team defeated No. 1 ranked Central Missouri. It was the only time in Fort Hays State's NCAA Division II history that it knocked off a No. 1 ranked team. The Mules won last year's meeting in Warrensburg 75-68, after the Tigers dominated them in Hays earlier in the season 83-59.

Fort Hays State is 3-0 in road games so far this year after the 63-58 win at Truman on Monday. However, two of the three wins on the road have been to teams currently with losing records.

The Tigers moved up to No. 8 in the national rankings on Tuesday, benefitting from a Missouri Southern loss this past Saturday at Pittsburg State. The Lions, which were No. 6 in the last poll, fell to No. 14, allowing the Tigers to move up one spot this week. The Tigers and Lions are the only two MIAA teams in the Top 25 and will collide in Hays this coming Monday.

Moses Dayee is averaging 15.0 points per game after his first two contests of the season. He had 19 in his season debut against Northwest Missouri State and then 11 at Truman on Monday. He is shooting 57.1 percent from beyond the 3-point line (8-of-14).

Karron McKenzie continues his steady play at 13.9 points per game. He has reached double figures in all but one game this year and is shooting just over 60 percent from the field. He also shoots just over 83 percent at the free-throw line.

Tyrone Phillips and Kendrick Morse are also averaging double figures, Phillips at 12.5 points per game and Morse at 10.4 per game. The two are tied for the team lead in 3-point field goals made with 13 each.

Matt Simmons continues his solid play inside, leading the MIAA in rebounds at 10.1 per game. He has reached double figures in rebounds six times this year, including a team-high 11 at Truman on Monday. He is also contributing a lot on the offensive end at 8.8 points per game, shooting over 60 percent from the field.
