Fort Hays State continues its brief Missouri road swing on Saturday (Jan. 27) at Lindenwood University in St. Charles, Mo. The game matches a pair of teams sitting in the middle of the MIAA standings, FHSU at 12-7 overall, 5-5 in the MIAA, and Lindenwood at 13-7 overall, 5-6 in the MIAA. The Tigers are searching for their first win ever in St. Charles. Game time is 3:30 pm, following the women's game at 1:30 pm.
Fort Hays State is looking to snap a two-game losing skid. After falling on its home floor for the first time this season to then No. 2 ranked Northwest Missouri State last Saturday, the Tigers' road woes continued with a 77-56 loss at Lincoln on Thursday evening. Averaging 78.4 points per game overall the Tigers have struggled to put points on the board in conference road contests, averaging just 63.4 points per game away from home in MIAA play. Fort Hays State has yet to break 70 points in a conference road game this year, with its best effort being 69 points in an 11-point win at Emporia State. That is the only road win in conference play for the Tigers so far this year.

The Tigers are looking for their first-ever win at Hyland Arena, where they are 0-3 in the brief series history with Lindenwood that started in 2012-13 when the Lions joined the MIAA. FHSU has never reached 60 points in the arena, 58 being its high in an 11-point loss in 2012-13. That is the closest the Tigers ever played the Lions in St. Charles as Lindenwood's average margin of victory at home against FHSU is 19 points. The last meeting with Lindenwood in St. Charles occurred in the 2015-16 season when Lindenwood won 68-49.

Hadley Gillum was the only Tiger in double figures Thursday night at Lincoln with 19 points. He continues to lead the team at 17.8 points and 6.5 rebounds per game, ranking fifth and 11
th in the MIAA respectively in the categories.

Brad Newman leads the scoring charge for Lindenwood at 15.5 points per game, while Chandler Diekvoss adds 14.4 per game along with 6.8 rebounds per game. Lindenwood has a better record away from its home building this year at 8-3, while it is just 5-4 at home. The Lions fell at home on Thursday night to surging Nebraska-Kearney by three points. On a three-game win streak, Nebraska-Kearney is tied with Fort Hays State for sixth in the MIAA standings.
