Both Fort Hays State and Emporia State claimed wins over Nebraska-Kearney earlier this week to open MIAA play. FHSU accomplished the task in Hays, while ESU went on the road to Kearney and won on Thursday night. Fort Hays State has won the last three meetings with Emporia State, going back to the 2016-17 season after sweeping the season series last year. The Tigers hold a 101-83 advantage in the all-time series. This will be the last conference game for the Tigers prior to the calendar rolling into 2019 as they have two non-conference games remaining at home to close out the month of December.

Fort Hays State is coming off a 76-73 win over Nebraska-Kearney on Tuesday night. The game saw 22 lead changes and FHSU ended the game on a 5-0 run to pull out the victory on its home floor. FHSU is 5-0 at home so far this season.

Brady Werth leads the Tigers at 15.0 points per game. He has eclipsed 20 points in a game three times this season. He matched his season-high of 27 points in the win over UNK on Tuesday. Marcus Cooper averages 12.3 points per game and Aaron Nicholson adds 10.4 per game. Kyler Kinnamon leads the Tigers in assists, averaging 4.4 per game.
