Fort Hays State will close out non-conference play and the 2024 portion of its schedule on Sunday (Dec. 22) when it plays host to Regis University. Tipoff is set for 2 p.m. at Gross Memorial Coliseum. The Tigers enter on a three-game win streak, sitting at 7-3 overall, while the Rangers are 5-6 overall.

The Tigers are coming off a big 66-50 win over nationally ranked MSU Denver on Friday evening in Hays. Fort Hays State reached 1,700 wins in program history, the sixth NCAA Division II program to reach the milestone.
Kaleb Hammeke reached 1,700 points in his career, just the second player in program history alongside Alonzo Goldston. Hammeke is now just 64 points shy of Goldston's career scoring record of 1,766 points.

The win was FHSU's sixth over a nationally ranked MSU Denver team, all of which have been in Hays. It was FHSU's third-straight win over teams ranked between No. 20-25 in the NABC Top 25 Poll. The result snapped a six-game win streak by the No. 22/25 ranked Roadrunners. FHSU is now 1-1 against both NABC and D2CSC ranked teams this year.

Regis is coming off a 13-point loss at Nebraska-Kearney on Friday evening. The Rangers enter this game on a two-game skid, now one game below .500 overall on the season. However, they are 3-1 within their conference so far this season.

This is the first meeting between FHSU and Regis since the 2005-06 season, which was the final year of FHSU's membership with the Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference. FHSU has won the last five meetings in the series, dating back to the 2003-04 season. The Tigers are 9-1 against the Rangers under
Mark Johnson's guidance.

Hammeke continues to lead the Tigers in scoring and assists. He is averaging 14.3 points and 4.7 assists per game for the season.
Kyle Grill (12.6) and
Shaun Riley (11.7) are also averaging double figures in scoring. Riley pulls down a team-best 6.4 rebounds per game.

Regis has played a lot of close games this season, with margins of five points or less in 11 of its contests. Chase Mayo Harmon leads Regis at 14.5 points per game, while Jalen Brown adds 13.5 per game and Eddy Egun averages 11.5 per game.
