The Fort Hays State indoor track and field teams showcased their talent across multiple meets Friday (Feb. 9), leaving an indelible mark on the track and in the field. The team was able to rack up three provisional marks as well as a school record in the men's distance medley during the David Hemery Valentine Invitational, Ichabod Invitational and the Ninth Annual Indoor Gorilla Classic.

In a momentous display of teamwork and determination, Fort Hays State's men's distance medley relay (DMR) team etched their names into the university's history by shattering the record with an electrifying performance. Led by the indomitable quartet of
Trever Medina,
Hayden Albright,
Ethan Lang, and
Grant Bradley, the team embarked on a mission to rewrite the record books. With precision exchanges, each member executed their leg of the race with unwavering precision. From Medina's blistering start to Bradley's powerhouse anchor leg, every stride propelled the team closer to their monumental goal. As the baton crossed the finish line, the clock stopped at a breathtaking time, eclipsing the previous record and cementing their legacy as the fastest DMR team in Fort Hays State history. This group breaks the record from last year where the group finished in 9:45.59 in the Eighth Annual Indoor Gorilla Classic

At the Ichabod Invitational in Topeka, Kan., the men's 60m dash saw
Eddie McVay lead the pack with a blistering time of 6.97 seconds, clinching a respectable seventh place finish. Not far behind,
Toby Wahlmeier and Kenny Frisch secured the 16th and 17th positions, respectively. Meanwhile, in the women's 60m hurdles,
Hadley Williams exhibited her agility, claiming the 16th spot with a time of 9.74 seconds, closely followed by teammates
Ellie Dusselier and
Kylin Rudzik.

The men's high jump witnessed
Dayton Williams soaring, clinching a commendable sixth place with a clearance of 6-9.50, achieving yet another provisional mark and just a couple feet from his personal best. In the triple jump,
Noah McGregor and
Dean Clark showcased their finesse, securing the 13th and 16th positions. In the women's front,
Jayme Hagerman led the charge in the triple jump, landing with 12th place finish, followed by teammates
Abby Rueschhoff and
Anne Sophie Van Der Knaap. Hagerman, the Larned , Kan. local, has been extremely efficient this year as she has three first place finsihes under her belt as a freshman.

Meanwhile, at the Ninth Annual Indoor Gorilla Classic,Â
Avrey Albright made waves in the men's 60m dash, securing the 20th spot with a time of 7.03 seconds, while
Tori Poe,
Reba Mader, and
Kinley Brown showcased their speed in the women's 60m dash, claiming the 15th, 16th, and 17th positions. In the men's 60m hurdles,
Ethan Salmans demonstrated his agility, finishing in ninth place with a time of 8.39 seconds, achieving a new personal best.
Avrey Albright continued his stellar performance in the 200m dash, securing 19th position with a time of 22.15 seconds while notching yet another personal best performance.Â

In the 600y dash,
Kaden Wren led the charge for the men, clinching a commendable third place finish, while
Reba Mader shone brightly for the women, also claiming the third spot and falling just a second short of her personal best.
Jaret Pfizenmaier showcased his endurance in the 5000m race, securing an impressive sixth place finish with a time of 14:41.45 while achieving a new personal best.Â

The prestigious David Hemery Valentine Invitational in Boston, Massachusetts showcased
Regan Hodsden set a provisional mark in the women's 5000m race, claiming the 86th out of over 200 competitors with a time of 17:08.30.
Jaycee Vath and
Darian Hudgeons exhibited their prowess in the unseeded category, finishing 19th and 43rd with Vath just seconds away from achieving both a personal best and NCAA DII provisional mark.

With a slew of NCAA Division II provisional marks achieved across the three meets, the Fort Hays State indoor track and field teams have cemented their status as formidable contenders on the national stage as they get ready for tomorrow (Feb. 10) in Topeka, Kan. and Pittsburg, Kan.
