The 13th-ranked Fort Hays State women's wrestling team heads on the road this weekend for the Missouri Valley Open in Marshall, Mo. The two-day tournament takes place on Friday and Saturday (Nov. 21-22). It will be the team's second tournament of the season.
The Tigers continued their strong start to the season with an impressive 30-16 dual win over the Oklahoma State Cowgirls wrestling club this past Saturday (Nov. 15) in Hays. The Tigers opened with back-to-back falls to seize early momentum and closed the night with another pair of pins to lock down the team victory. FHSU won six of the 10 matches overall, including five by fall and one by tech fall.
A total of 32 schools are projected to compete at the Missouri Valley Open. Action is scheduled to begin in the morning on both Friday and Saturday. In Fort Hays State's first tournament of the year, the Maverick Open, the Tigers had three champions and 15 placers.
