JOPLIN, Mo. - The Fort Hays State men's cross country team placed 10th out of 30 schools at the 2025 NCAA Division II Central Region Championships Saturday morning (Nov. 8) at the Tom Rutledge Cross Country Course. It is FHSU's first top-10 finish at the regional meet since 2021.
 
Christian Darrah was the first Tiger to the finish line, placing 42nd out of 204 runners with a time of 32:00.3. Noah Morenz completed the 10-kilometer course in 32:11.8 to place 51st, while Cole Krug finished 63rd with a time of 32:32.6. Hayden Nemechek crossed the line in 33:19.4 to place 95th, while Chayse McCullough traversed the course in 33:28.9 to finish in 103rd place.
 
Northwest Missouri State secured the team title with 72 points, with the Bearcats' Aziz Mohammed taking home the individual championship with a time of 29:53.5.
 
The Tigers will now transition to the indoor track and field season, which is slated to begin on December 5 in Pittsburg, Kan.
