AUSTIN, Texas –
Hayden Albright of Fort Hays State track and field was named to the CSC Academic All-America Men's Track & Field/Cross Country Team for 2024-25. He is now a three-time CSC Academic All-America selection after being named to the first team in 2022-23 and the second team in 2023-24. He was a third-team selection this year. This award honors a combination of academic and athletic accomplishments of the individuals selected.
Albright concluded his FHSU career as a five-time All-America performer, earning his final All-America honor for the 2025 indoor season as a member of the 4x100 meter relay team that finished seventh nationally. He was also a five-time qualifier for NCAA Division II Championships. Albright also earned All-America status throughout his career as a member of the distance medley relay team in 2024, the 4x100 meter relay team in 2021, the 4x400 meter relay team in 2021, and the 400-meter dash individually in 2023. Albright was a two-time MIAA champion in relay events and a nine-time All-MIAA performer overall. He was a six-time USTFCCCA All-Region performer. He currently owns two individual FHSU records and was a member of five record-holding relay teams at FHSU.
Academically, Albright has earned the MIAA Scholar-Athlete honor seven times. He is a nine-time member of the MIAA Academic Honor Roll. Albright held a 3.78 cumulative GPA in his undergraduate studies and has maintained a perfect 4.0 GPA working on a professional studies graduate degree.
Albright is one of 15 FHSU student-athletes to earn multiple Academic All-America recognitions and is just the second athlete in school history to do so three times, joining Jesse Trent who earned the honor in football from 2012 to 2014.
Albright gives FHSU its 78th CSC Academic All-America selection all-time for all sports. He is the seventh individual from FHSU to receive the distinction in 2024-25, joining Tadhg Walsh (men's soccer), Myles Menges and Josh Shaw (football), Katie DeGarmo (women's basketball), Cooper Scheck (men's golf), and Emily Diercks (women's cross country/track and field). The seven Academic All-America selections for FHSU is the second-most for a year in school history, just one behind the eight selected during the 2022-23 academic year.
Fort Hays State's first CSC Academic All-America selection occurred in 1975. FHSU now has 48 Academic All-America selections since joining the MIAA in 2006-07. The track and field program at FHSU has now received 21 CSC Academic All-America selections all-time. Overall, FHSU produced an impressive 18 Academic All-America selections for all sports over the last three academic years.
