NEW ORLEANS - The Fort Hays State men's track and field team ranks 18th in the latest USTFCCCA NCAA Division II rating index, released Tuesday (March 5) by the coaches association.
 
Men's Track & Field currently have broken four school records this season while notching 32 provisional marks. The Tiger men have seven student-athletes that have qualified for nationals, including Hayden Albright. Albright qualified individually in the 400m dash thanks to his school-record time of 47.47, tenth-best in Division II this year. Ethan Lang has two All-American honors in his career as he looks to improve on his historic senior season. Lang emerged as a standout performer in the men's 600y event at the MIAA Championships, capturing his third conference championship in the 600y. Lang is also tied for the sixth best 800m time in the county, clocking in at 1:49.40, fast enough for a school record in the 800m. Both Albright and Lang will compete in the distance medley relay (DMR) team along with Trever Medina and Grant Bradley at the NCAA Championships. Fort Hays State's DMR time of 9:43.55 ranks seventh in Division II and broke another school record on the season.
 
Jacob Clark returns to the national meet in the pole vault thanks to a top clearance of 16-8.75 this season, 11th best nationally. Clark earned All-American honors indoors two years in a row as he looks to add another All-American under his belt. Dayton Williams will compete in the high jump as he was tied for the 16th best jump in Division II this season. He achieved a jump of 6-11.5 earlier this season and ranks second in program history with this mark. Nolan Churchman, two time indoor All-American, will compete in the heptathlon. The junior ranks eighth in the country this season with a top point total of 5,326.
 
Keamonie Archie, who currently holds the second-best long jump in school history with a distance at 23-11.75 feet. Archie has only competed in two events as a freshman and looks to continue to improve the FHSU men's field team. Another young Tiger that improved the team is Avrey Albright. Avrey Albright has been included in relay teams and sprints the whole season and has improved the sprints team as a freshman. Dean Clark, a freshman jumper, won the long jump at the UNK Pre-Holiday Classic earlier this season with a distance of 23-3.5. Emery Wolfe, another freshman, was a top five finisher in two events at the KSU Steve Miller Invitational that included Division I athletes.
 
The Tiger men currently rank sixth in the central region as the team had a successful weekend at the MIAA Championships a couple weekends ago. The men placed fourth, notching eight provisionals as well as 3 All-MIAA honors.
 
Men's Track & Field conclude their exceptional indoor season at the NCAA Championships in Pittsburg, Kan. this weekend (March 8-9).
