MARYVILLE, Mo. - The Fort Hays State men's track and field team racked up two event victories and posted a trio of national qualifying performances Saturday (Feb. 7) on day two of the Bearcat Invite.

Drew Tolar improved his national qualifying status in the heptathlon with a winning total of 5,117, ranking the sophomore seventh in Division II this season and third at FHSU during the DII era. He opened day two with a time of 8.88 in the 60m hurdles, compiling 772 points. He then added 576 points with a clearance of 12-7.5 in the pole vault before running the 1,000m in 2:53.18 to pick up another 733 points.

Hunter Angove claimed victory in the pole vault after surpassing the bar at 16-6, which ranks 22nd in Division II this season.
Josiah Ball also cleared the national qualifying threshold, placing second with a clearance of 15-10.
Brady Deges placed fourth after soaring over the 15-4.25 bar, while
Mason Younger finished in ninth place with a top clearance of 14-10.25.

Bradley Nkosi placed 12th out of 52 competitors in the 60m dash prelims, crossing the line in 8.49.

The Tigers will be back in action next weekend (Feb. 13-14) at the 11th Annual Russ Jewett Indoor Gorilla Classic in Pittsburg, Kan.
