PITTSBURG, Kan. - Fort Hays State placed 12th at the Tommy Riggs Collegiate Invitational held at Crestwood Country Club, a par-72 venue. The Tigers posted rounds of 316, 317, and 310 for a round total of 943. A total of 18 teams competed in the tournament, though it was an MIAA designated event for the season. The Tigers were 10th among MIAA teams.

Cooper Scheck led the Tigers, tying for 34th place at +16 with rounds of 75 (+3), 82 (+10), and 75 (+3). He had three birdies throughout the tournament and tied for the fifth-most pars in the tournament with 35.

Chutithep Rungpajchim tied for 43rd place at +18 with rounds of 76 (+4), 80 (+8), and 78 (+6). He also carded three birdies for the tournament.

Colby Hays tied for 67th at +25, but notched five birdies throughout the event. He shot 83, 77, and 81.
Grant McAtee tied for 73rd and finished +26. He had rounds of 82, 84, and 76, also with five birdies.

Isaak Bowman played as an individual and placed 86th at +30 with rounds of 84, 81, and 81, while accumulating four birdies.
Jordan McCaslin tied for 87th place, just one stroke back of Bowman after rounds of 87, 78, and 82. He also had four birdies.

Central Oklahoma won the tournament with a total of 890. Washburn was seven strokes back and Central Missouri was 18 strokes off the pace. Peyton Coahran of Winona State won the tournament at 3-over par overall. He was the only golfer in the field to finish even par or better in two of three rounds.

The Tigers return to action next week the Firekeeper Open in Mayetta, Kansas, hosted by Washburn University, April 6-7.
