NORMAN, Okla. - The Fort Hays State men's golf team has been named a recipient of the 2025-26 PLATFORM Golf Team Academic Award, announced Thursday (Aug 6) by the Golf Coaches Association of America.
 
This award, given to just 66 schools in NCAA Division II and a total of 332 programs across six divisions of collegiate golf this season, recognizes programs that completed the most recent academic year with a cumulative team GPA of 3.00 or higher. Earning the distinction for a second-consecutive season, the Tigers were one of two programs in the MIAA to receive the honor.
 
The 10 members of the 2025-26 squad combined for a team GPA of 3.229. Seven of the 10 were listed on the MIAA Academic Honor Roll, including Jason Brokaw, Ben Deges, Colby Hays, Grant McAtee, Jordan McCaslin, Chutithep Rungpajchim and Cooper Scheck. Scheck was also a CSC Academic All-American in addition to receiving the MIAA Academic Excellence Award and the MIAA Scholar Athlete Award, while McCaslin was a CSC Academic All-District pick. Additionally, McCaslin, Rungpajchim and Scheck were all named GCAA Cobalt Golf All-America Scholars.
