NORMAN, Okla. –
Cooper Scheck of Fort Hays State was named to the PING All-Central Region Team for the second-straight year on Tuesday (May 19), announced by the GCAA. He was one of 12 individuals from the Central Region to receive the honor for the 2025-26 season.
The Dodge City, Kansas senior has put together another tremendous year on the course, becoming the first FHSU player in the program's NCAA Division II history to reach the NCAA Championship site where he is competing this week in Boulder City, Nevada. Scheck was selected to the NCAA Super Regional in Michigan as an individual, where he was the top individual finisher not on a qualifying team in the field of 116 golfers. He placed third overall in the tournament at 2-under par overall.
Scheck earned All-MIAA honors for the third-straight season in 2025-26, becoming the first FHSU player to receive the honor three times. His 71.79 stroke average going into the NCAA Championship site is the best for a single-season in the program's MIAA history, looking to top his 72.15 average from the previous season. He has a career stroke average of 72.44 at FHSU in three seasons.
Scheck has six top-10 finishes this season, which includes a win at the Hillcat Invitational and a tie for first at the Newman Invitational. He was top-5 in four events this year. Through 33 rounds for the season, 19 were at-or-below par and eight were in the 60s with a season low of 66.
