KANSAS CITY, Mo. - The Fort Hays State men's golf team placed three student-athletes on the 2025-26Â MIAA Academic Honor Roll, announced Tuesday (June 9) by the conference office.

Cooper Scheck was the only men's golf athlete conference-wide to earn both the Scholar-Athlete Award and the MIAA Academic Excellence Award, doing so for a third-consecutive season.

Other Tigers on the MIAA Academic Honor Roll include
Ben Deges, who earned the honor for a third time, and
Jordan McCaslin, who picked up the distinction for the second year in a row.

An MIAA Academic Excellence Award recipient must have a grade point average used by the institution for purposes of NCAA academic certification of 4.00 or better at the certifying member institution. The honoree also must have at least two terms of attendance at the certifying member institution, excluding summer terms.

To qualify as a Scholar-Athlete an individual must have a grade point average used by the institution for purposes of NCAA academic certification of 3.50 at the certifying member institution. They must also have at least two terms of attendance at the certifying member institution, excluding summer terms. The student-athlete must also earn All-MIAA honors during the current season.

To be recognized on the Academic Honor Roll, one must have a grade point average used by the institution for purposes of NCAA academic certification of 3.00 at the certifying member institution. The individual must also have at least two terms of attendance at the certifying member institution, excluding summer terms.
Â
First-year student-athletes, including transfers and true freshmen, will be recognized at the conclusion of the school year when they meet the two terms of attendance requirement.
