Soulia played a big part in Fort Hays State’s three wins at Pittsburg State this past weekend. In game one with the Tigers trailing 1-0 after six innings, his leadoff double in the seventh led to a single that he scored on to tie the game. After PSU scored once to tie the game in the eighth, he triggered another rally in the ninth with a leadoff single and later scored on a wild pitch to give FHSU the lead for good. 

On Saturday, Soulia hit three home runs in the doubleheader, including two in the second game. His first of the day, a two-run shot in game one, gave FHSU a 9-8 lead. It was part of a six-run sixth inning after the Tigers were behind or tied through the first five innings. In the second game, he hit a two-run homer in the third inning to extend FHSU’s lead to 3-0, then hit a solo shot his next time up in the fifth to push the FHSU lead to 5-3. He walked and scored in a three-run sixth inning. 

In the final game of the series, he recorded four hits (two singles and two doubles) with his double in the second inning producing two runs. Six of Soulia’s nine hits in the series went for extra bases and he scored at least once in every game. He now has a team-leading five home runs, 12 doubles and .348 batting average on the season
