A native of Topeka, Kansas, Ashlee Gustin competed in women's basketball from 2003-2007. She finished her four-year career at FHSU with 1,504 points and 794 rebounds, which both ranked fifth in program history at the end of her career. She was a three-time all-conference selection, earning All-RMAC honors as a sophomore and junior and All-MIAA honors in Fort Hays State's first year as members of their present-day conference. She led the team in scoring and rebounding each of her last three seasons, averaging more than 14 points and six rebounds per game each of those seasons. Gustin helped Fort Hays State to its first-ever NCAA Tournament appearance for women's basketball in 2004-05 when FHSU went 22-8 overall. She was a member of back-to-back 20-win teams and she set the program record for blocked shots at 166 until it was broken six years later.
