Women's Basketball (1997-2001)
Porter, a native of Glen Elder, Kan., played for the FHSU women's basketball team from 1997 to 2001. She was a four-time All-RMAC selection, three times as a All-East Division First Team selection and one time as an All-East Division Honorable Mention selection. She was an All-RMAC First Team selection (both divisions) in 1998-99 and 1999-2000. Porter is second on the all-time scoring list at FHSU with 1,791 points in her four seasons. She ranks 9th and 10th at FHSU for most points in a single season with 487 in 1998-99 and 485 in 2000-01. Porter's 18.0 points per game scoring average in 1998-99 is seventh-best in a single season at FHSU. Her 51 three-point field goals in 1998-99 ranks eighth-best in a single season at FHSU. She also hit 44 three-pointers in 1997-98, ranking 10th on the single-season list. She is tied with Annette Wiles for the most free-throws made in a single season at FHSU (164), occurring in 2000-01. She held the single-season free-throw percentage record until last year. She now has the third and fifth-best single season totals in that category. Porter's best performance in a game was a 35-point effort against Chadron State in 1999. She was the team leader in scoring all four of her seasons at FHSU, an honor no other Lady Tiger has accomplished. She led the team in free-throw shooting all four years at FHSU, an honor she shares only with Annette Wiles. She also led the team in three-point field goal percentage her sophomore through senior seasons. She also was a great performer in the classroom, as she was twice named Fort Hays State's Phillips 66 Scholar Athlete of the Year for the Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference. She also earned Fort Hays State's Busch Gross Award in 2001.
