Cross Country/Track & Field (1974-78)
Garry Sigle, native of Osborne, Kan., was a five-time All-American for Fort Hays State in cross country and track and field. He was a two-time NAIA All-American for the Tigers in cross country coming in 1975 and 1977, and a two-time NAIA Indoor Track and Field All-American in the 2-Mile Run, coming in 1976 and 1978.  Sigle finished as the national runner-up twice in the Indoor 2-Mile Run. He was a NAIA All-American in Outdoor Track and Field in the 10,000 Meter Run in 1978, placing fifth at the national meet.  Sigle was the Central States Intercollegiate Conference Champion in the Outdoor 3-Mile Run twice, coming in 1976 and 1978.  Sigle was the Busch Gross Award Winner in 1978.  He was a four-time all-conference performer in cross country. Sigle has served as the cross country and track and field coach at Riley County High School the past 31 years, where he has coached the school to nine state championships in cross country and two state championships in track and field. He also served as President of the Kansas Cross Country and Track & Field Coaches Association from 1996-2004.
