Football/Track and Field (1993-98)
Jeremy Hawks, native of Norton, Kan., was a standout two-sport athlete at Fort Hays State from 1993 to 1998. He was a six-time All-American in track and field, earning the honor four times for outdoor and two times for indoor. He was a two-time Indoor All-American in the shot put. He was an Outdoor All-American twice in the shot put, once in the discus and once in the hammer throw. His highest national finish was third place in both the indoor and outdoor shot put. He was twice named the Most Valuable Athlete at the RMAC Outdoor Championships, garnering 14 individual all-conference honors and eight individual conference titles. He set a conference record in the shot put and FHSU records in the shot put and hammer throw. He was the first male NCAA Division II Track and Field All-American at FHSU to garner a top-three national finish. Hawks also garnered several honors in football for the Tigers. He was a member of the only two teams in FHSU history to make the NCAA Division II Playoffs (1993 & 1995). He was a two-time All-RMAC First Team selection on the defensive line. In his career, Hawks recorded 179 tackles, 20 tackles for loss, and eight sacks as a four-year starter.
