Webster was the "Voice of the Tigers" for Fort Hays State on the radio for 14 years, from 1989 to 2002. Webster is part of a lineage of great play-by-play announcers throughout the years at FHSU, following Tiger Sports Hall of Fame member Bob Davis (currently does play-by-play for the University of Kansas and the Kansas City Royals) and Wyatt Thompson (Kansas State University). Webster called over 1,200 games in his career at Fort Hays State, covering the football, men's and women's basketball, baseball, softball, and volleyball programs. He is the second-longest serving "Voice of the Tigers" in school history. Webster also served as Fort Hays State's sports information director for a couple of years while also covering his radio duties. Following his stint at FHSU, Webster called games for Kansas State University, worked in sports radio in Wichita, Kan., and now serves as the Sports Director for Eagle Radio and play-by-play announcer for Barton Community College in Great Bend, Kan. A native of Pratt, Kan., Webster was the 1992 Sportscaster of the Year by the Kansas State High School Athletic Association and has been honored 22 times by the Kansas Association of Broadcasters for news, sports, and play-by-play.
